Team Lightning,

Tomorrow night (Wednesday) we travel to face the Ferry Farm Flying Fish. Details and logistics are below and flyer attached.

Where: Ferry Farm Pool at 11 Mercer Lane, Fredericksburg, VA 22405

When: Arrive around 5:00pm. Our warm-ups start at 5:25pm and the meet begins at 6:00pm.

Parking: There is limited parking at the Ferry Farm Pool. Parking is NOT allowed on the street. Please use the Ferry Farm Elementary School parking lot. Parents may drop their swimmers off in front of the pool before parking.

Where to Set Up: Home and Away teams will share the grassy area; the away team may NOT set up on the large side of the pool deck. The narrower side of the deck (closest to the school) is for officials and coaches only- no spectator seating.

Food and Drink: Yes. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Notables:

• If you have questions about a disqualification, please do not approach the stroke & turn judges. You may ask one of our coaches about it at the next practice. If you want to contest a disqualification, you have to go through our coaching staff.

• Cell phones and cameras are not allowed behind the blocks. Filming or picture-taking from the start or finish end of the pool is prohibited.

• If you have to step away as a timer, please notify the head timer and identify an alternate. Swimmers are not allowed to stand-in as timers.

• Swimmers should not be behind the blocks unless they are waiting for their next event.

Volunteer Status: We still need to fill:

• Assistant Clerk of Course – 1st half

• Awards Clerk – 2nd half

• (Trained) Clerk of the Course – 2nd half

• Lane 3 Timer – 1st half

Looking ahead to the final home meet on July 13th, we will be missing several families (mine included) who contribute to several trained volunteer positions – particularly 1) Stroke and Turn 2) Admin Referee. If you have the capacity, please consider training for one of these positions to ensure we can cover in a pinch.
